An innovative load-bearing chassis (known as uni-body) architecture has been developed for Iveco LCV. This architecture is already able to achieve particularly significant passive safety targets (for example, EU-NCAP 64 km/h, US-NCAP 56 km/h) with performance reaching a level of excellence. Moreover, the solution developed does not appear to penalise mass with respect to the standard body and can be further lightened by eliminating specific add-on components for versions that will be sold in markets with less stringent regulations.
